• Priscilla has arrived safely home again as of this morning after her 44-hour journey,. She was so blessed by the kindnesses of many people while she was here. And because they blessed her, they blessed us!

  • She also reported that the water from their new well tastes good and seems to be functioning fully. Praise the Lord

  •  We have booked flights now to Britain arriving there September 1 and leaving September 27 to return to Ukraine. We look forward to connecting with friends and churches there.

PRAYER

  • As our time here in North America shortens, intensity increases in preparation for return to Ukraine. Many details to take care of yet and to put in place, which we trust will be profitable for the future there. Please pray that the Lord would bring to mind anything we have overlooked. That He would give wisdom in minor tasks, which add up to a lot by the time they are all dealt with.

  • Pray also that we would make good use of the time left us in the States. We do not want to go places who receive us rather reluctantly and perhaps as a favor to us when there are many places and people who are keen to engage with the crisis in Ukraine and learn more about it. Time is limited. Strength is limited. We want to keep both committed to the Lord for His glory.

  • And pray for the believers in Ukraine and the pain. You will find an open letter under the Ukrainian BU reports (https://renew-ukraine.life/#ubu-reports ) written by the leadership of the Ukrainian Baptist Union to the Russian Baptist Union. People in Russia are fearful to say anything against the government, even when there are atrocities involved, and so they either align themselves purposefully with the Russian government, or by default of their silence. In the case of the Russian Baptists, unfortunately both have been true. I’m sure there are individual pastors or church members who have tried to take a stand against this evil. But the denomination itself seems to be compromised. Pray for these men as they wrestle with what is right in the eyes of God.

I will close this with a quote which is a prayer from Seek God for Your City 2022 app. A fitting prayer now even though this prayer was formed before the war in Ukraine. Yes, a spiritual battle in this world.

While following the way of Your judgments, O LORD, we have waited for You eagerly. Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. ...Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; for when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. – Isaiah 26:8-9

In these drastic days Your dealings are as mysterious as they are magnificent. We watch and yearn in hope for You to vindicate Your good and great name. Though darkness appears to prevail, You will not fail to bring Your kingly rule upon the earth. We pray for those who pursue evil, heedless of Your love or Your judgment. Show them Your mercy! Reveal to them the beauty of Your righteousness and the excellence of Your wisdom. Awaken many to the great hope of Your coming. And even now, may they welcome Your Lordship.
